I can’t remember ever not wanting to live in the country… just enough land for some chooks, veggies, fruit trees and garden. I’ve long since moved on from the thought of a large property with horses and cattle.
After half a century (that sounds so old) and over 30 years of professional life, it is time to take the step. My original intention was to balance working in the city a few days a week, then retreating to the country for the rest of the week, but country life soon won out and I’m now living here permanently (since November 2013) and doing my best to become part of the local community. Life took another turn when my short lived retirement turned into retail shop owner when I opened Convent and Chapel Wool Shop in nearby Rylstone.
I had never anticipated living in a Spanish Mission Convent in Central NSW but we have now found each other and are having some rollicking adventures.
Margot I love your blog!!!! So fun seeing and reading about your enthusiastic take to country life and so generous in giving your time to our community! Thank you! I look forward to reading lots more! I too delight in filling the freezer with home mad pesto and bottling fruits and making jam but sadly this year did almost none as it was so hot and dry and we just dont have the water.
Love to have you over for lunch sometime as our place is part of the local history as well. All the best, Ginny
Ginny, It’s always lovely to hear from locals reading my blog. It would be great to catch up soon and have you look at the Convent for real and not just through the blog.
Cheers

Its so nice to see you enjoying the country life and following your passion 🙂 I remember you working on tapestries and making baby shawls when we worked together so long ago! I hope you are keeping well. xJulie
