Online Shop

As a long time knitter, I’ve managed to co-ordinate my passion with my move to the country by opening a shop in Rylstone. Whilst it’s a real bricks and mortar shop (although more sandstone, given it’s housed in the historic Bridgeview Inn), we also have a well-stocked online shop, Convent and Chapel Wool Shop.

We aim to provide artisan yarns to discerning knitters with fibre sourced both locally and overseas. Brands include Hedgehog Fibre, Jamieson & Smith (given we are keen lace knitters), JaggerSpun, Schoppel Wolle, Debbie Bliss, Jo Sharp, Rowan, Lotus Yarns, Claudia’s Handpainted Yarns, Madeline Tosh, Noro … and a growing list of brand names.

We also have quality needles and accessories from Knitpro and Hiya Hiya.

Rylstone is about 3 hours drive from Sydney and 45 minutes (Sydney side) from Mudgee – a great place for a weekend visit. We also share our building with 29Nine99, an authentic Yum Cha house, set magically and unexpectedly in Central NSW. What greater excuse can you have to visit us. And we’ll have the fire on in Winter.

Here’s a tiny glimpse of us on Better Homes and Gardens – that’s our building with our blankets out the front in the first 90 seconds. Stay watching for Yum Cha.

Make sure you introduce yourself and say “Hi” if you pop in. We’d love to see you and have you see our shop.

  1. I love your shop and love knitting. I have also retired last year and discover an antique sock knitting machine which I now knit my socks on instead of the traditional hand knitting which I had done for years for family and friends. Would you be interested in stocking some of my socks or have socks knitted by me to sell in your shop with your 4ply sock wool. If you are interested I would love to hear from you. I live in Sydney northern beaches. Thank you for your time and I apologize for the intrusion. Thank you kind regards Helga.

    • Thanks Helga for your kind words and offer. At this stage we only have hand knits that we make ourselves and sell Lindner socks which come from a fourth generation family business in Crookwell.
I’ll let you know if this changes in the future.
      Cheers
      Margot
